Administrative Assistant
for the Volunteer Lawyers Program
Southern Arizona Legal Aid,
Inc. (SALA)
Position
Southern
Arizona Legal Aid, Inc. (“SALA”) is accepting applications for a
full-time
administrative
assistant. Any permanent SALA employee who transfers to this
position
retains job seniority to their former position if the funding
for the position
expires. The
Administrative Assistant (“AA”) will work with the Volunteer
Lawyers
Program (VLP).
Description
The job
responsibilities include the following:
1. Coordination of various VLP clinics.
2. Correspondence/scheduling clients, volunteer
attorneys and student
volunteers.
3.
Conduct client conflict checks.
4. Open, prepare and close files.
5. Stock necessary materials for clinics.
6. Maintain time records for recognition of volunteer
attorneys.
7. Assist VLP in acknowledging all volunteer attorneys.
8. Assist with data entry and record keeping.
9. Assist VLP with special projects, including
recruitment, training, and
acknowledgment of volunteer attorneys. Some evenings
may be required.
10. Assist with outreach activities.
11. Other duties as assigned by either Executive
Director or Program
Director.
Qualifications
> Clerical
experience
> Proficient
with WordPerfect and Windows
> Computer
skills/knowledge
> Some
knowledge of PowerPoint helpful, but not required
> Ability to
speak Spanish helpful, but not required

Valid drivers
license/insurance required as some travel may be required.
Some travel may be
required.
Salary
Depending upon
experience; excellent benefits including 12 paid holidays,
health and disability
insurance, and up to 5%
additional compensation
available to individuals fluent in Spanish.
