Jessica Dabbert
May 2005
Jessica Dabbert is
a second year law
student who has volunteered in
the Child
Support Project since Fall 2004. Her
sunny disposition and compassion have
been a great
source of comfort to the clients
she serves almost
every week in the Project.
Jessica attended
the University of Arizona
as an undergraduate,
graduating in 2002
with a Bachelor of Arts in
Psychology with
a minor in Spanish. At the College of
Law,
Jessica is committed to serving
underrepresented populations,
working with the Justice Project and as a 38(e)
student in the College’s Domestic
Violence Clinic. Fluent in Spanish, Jessica
is
also involved with La Raza, the College’s
Hispanic Bar Association. In her “spare”
time, Jessica is a licensed
Reiki practitioner and notary public.
This summer, Jessica will be working
for the Never Again Foundation, which
provides
free legal
representation to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault,
and
elder abuse in civil law suits against their abusers. She will also
be
volunteering in the Child Support Project and Domestic Relations
Clinic. Notes
Jessica about her continued involvement in the VLP:
The Volunteer
Lawyers Program has helped to solidify for me
the reasons why I
chose law as my profession. I believe that
members of the legal
profession have an obligation to provide
legal services to those in
need, regardless of income or earning
ability. Participating in the
VLP Clinics has given me the chance
to help make a difference in
people’s lives and to experience first
hand the true appreciation
our clients have for the services we
provide. VLP has undoubtedly
been a most joyous and
rewarding experience for which I am deeply
grateful. I am thrilled
to continue to be a part of such an amazing
program.
