Larry Adamson

May 2005

 

Larry R. Adamson has been selected

as the Outstanding Pro Bono Attorney

of the Month for May.  Mr. Adamson

was chosen to receive this honor by

the Volunteer Lawyers Program

(VLP).  The Pro Bono Awards are

announced monthly and highlight an

attorney who has made an extraordinary

contribution toward making legal services

available to persons who otherwise could

not afford them.

 

Mr. Adamson has been providing legal assistance to VLP clients in need of help

with wills and small estates for more than four years.  Although Mr. Adamson

does not speak Spanish himself, he often assists Spanish speakers draft their

wills.  Mr. Adamson also donates the use of his support staff to interpret for

clients.     

 

When talking about Mr. Adamson’s selection for this award, Socorro Diaz, the

VLP’s Pima County Coordinator, noted, “Mr. Adamson is always ready and

willing to go to bat for those in need of legal services.  He is incredibly generous

with his time and is always gracious and kind when dealing with program staff.”   

 

Mr. Adamson is an attorney with the Tucson and Green Valley law firm of Duffield

Young Adamson, P.C.  He is a Certified Specialist in Estates and Trust Law and

Tax Law.  Mr. Adamson focuses his practice on estate planning, estate tax,

probate, and estate and trust administration. 

 

Mr. Adamson received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Arizona in 1957, his law degree from

the University of San Francisco in 1969 and a Masters of Law (in Taxation)

from New York University in 1970.  He is a member of the American,

Arizona, California and Pima County Bar Associations.  He is also a

member of the American, Arizona and California CPA Societies.                         

 

In addition to the considerable amount of time Mr. Adamson donates to the

VLP, he also volunteers his time to help many other organizations throughout

Arizona.  He has served on the Board of Directors of The University of Arizona

Foundation, the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona, the Tucson

Medical Center Foundation, the Tucson Symphony Society, the Arizona

Children’s Foundation, Friends of Western Arizona, the Rotary Club of

Tucson Foundation and the Tucson Airport Authority.

 

The award will be presented to Mr. Adamson at the Annual VLP Awards

Luncheon in November.  The luncheon will be held at the Marriott University

Park Hotel.
